Energy Auditing
By conducting an in-depth energy consumption analysis, our engineers are able to indetify points of ineffeciency and create solutions accordingly. To best serve our clients we have developed three levels of energy examination.
Level 1
This overview enables our engineers to determine a site’s required energy consumption quota and compare it against an effecient energy quota. These initial benchmarks are measured so that any subsequent solutions implemented may be analysed accordingly. This is often conducted through a desktop study or an inverter test. A Level 1 audit is expected to give an overview, which provides rough orders of savings and costs. Accuracy of these figures are generally within ±40%.
Level 2
A Level 2 audit identifies the sources of energy to a site, the amount of energy supplied, and what the energy is used for. It also identifies areas of enefficiency, recommends measures to be taken, and provides a statement of costs and potential savings. A Level 2 audit is an energy use survey, which is expected to provide a preliminary assessment of costs and savings. Accuracy of these figures are generally within ±20%.
Level 2
A Level 3 audit provides a detailed analysis of energy usage, the savings that can be made, and the cost of achieving those savings. It may cover the whole site or may concentrate on an individual item, such as a single industrial process or one of the services. The auditor may work with one of our renewable energy systems installers to carry out specific parts of an audit or may need to install local metering and logging. The report from a Level 3 audit often forms the justification for substantial investment by the owner or an energy performance contractor where a detailed economic analysis with an appropriate level of accuracy is required. A Level 3 audit is expected to provide a firm estimate of savings and costs. Accuracy of figures would be within +10% for costs and -10% for benefits.
Starting with the development of an energy consumption inventory detailed auditing activities will be conducted to identify buildings and facilities with particular focus on rationalising their energy profiles. Field measurements will be also taken to quantify critical operating parameters. Following the establishment of an energy consumption profile, the potential energy saving opportunities can be identified. Energy management strategy and particular energy reduction programs can be organised and planned with reference to energy audit results.
